The Media's Been Lying To Me Again
Maybe it's because I'm teaching in an "upscale" town but I haven't seen one single student who I would think is suffering from childhood obesity. There are a couple kids I'd call husky but they don't appear to be in grave danger of developing type II diabetes any time soon.
In fact, most of my students are in better shape then I was at that age.

I was in good shape at that age...NOW look at me!
You should check out the children here in the Wisco. They will put your feelings of betrayal to rest. (if anything is mispelled it's because I'm a little drunk)
Of course, here in Wisconsin they tell med school students to add 10 pounds to the "average weight."
(And the Bronco's are looking terrible/good/terrible)
You're still hot.
That's cuz I'm standing over near the stove.
I agree with Ricketyfunk that the problem is much worse in other parts of the country. Massachusetts has one of the lowest rates of obesity in the country. You travel to other parts of the country and it is bad.
