Pussy Galore

Lisa and I went out on a date Friday night. Both of us were tired, thinking of dinner and an early bedtime. I mean I was so tired I only had two at the bar after work. I even ran into friends and their very happy to see me doggies and I didn't stick around for a round. I was tired. Until I saw a review of the new James Bond movie.

It was straight to the mall for Lisa and me only to find the 6:45 show was sold out at 5:30. 7:45 was to be our fate. We killed time looking around the pet store. We saw crayfish making love and there were more doggies for me to wish I could take home. Also iguanas right now are the cheapest I've ever seen them. We played air hockey and watched kids in baggy pants play Dance Dance Revolution. We shared a cup of coffee. Then we saw the movie. It was a lovely date. Lisa and I don't go out enough. Especially since I haven't been able to make trivia night because of school.

Go see the movie. Go see the movie. GO SEE THE MOVIE! "Casino Royale" made me realize how much better the movies based on the original Ian Fleming novels are. They're definately better then when John Gardner wrote Bond. I want to go read the Flemming books again. Lisa, what box are they in?

It's rare for a movie to come out that makes me want to re-read the source material.

Lee I really think you'll like it.

Linda & I hope to see it Wednesday night.

I'm excited about it, but I've been avoiding spoilers. Though, having read the novel, I know the BIG spoiler.

I've read about half the Ian Fleming original novels and short stories. The more I read them the less I can stand the Roger Moore movies. Those were certainly the most cartoonish - and the character of Bond was most removed from the source material.

I heard that many fans prior to this one felt that the Dalton movies were closest to the Fleming Bond with George Lazenby a close second.

Yeah, I feel that way. Well, at least about Dalton. He was the closest to the novels, though he had two of the worst scripts - according to most critics/fans. (personally, though, I like 'License To Kill')

I'm still not totally sold on Lazenby - though, facially, he was the closest to Fleming's Bond. But he seemed very lanky - which Bond was not.

Saw it tonight.

It is awesome.

This is the Bond movie I've been waiting for ever since I read Casino Royale.

The ending - with Bond and the rifle and the suit - so freakin' perfect.
